Exercise 7. Tungsten and Fluorescent lighting.

After having conducted the light comparison test I took three shots of a tungsten lit item in a window at dusk.  I took three photographs with the white balance set at Auto, Daylight and Tungsten.  The results are as follows:

Auto
Daylight

Tungsten
The Auto shot appears to have adjusted the photograph with a reasonable balance of colours and warmth  the daylight version has a more orange tinge to it and therefore more warmth whereas in contrast, the tungsten setting has created a colder blue effect particularly the dusk outside the window.

For the second part of this project I took three pictures in a garage that was lit with a powerful florescent light.  The first at auto then the second on a florescent setting and the third on another florescent setting.

Auto
Florescent normal
Florescent heat
The first picture has made a reasonable auto adjustment, the second has a clear blue tinge and the third has enhanced the yellows and orange.

For the second part I took a picture in my son's room that is lit with CFL lights.  I used the same three settings.
Auto
Florescent 1
Florescent 2 Warm

With this lighting the differences are far more subtle for the first two photographs there is a hint of blue int he initial florescent setting.  The second is much brighter and the reds/yellows come out much brighter.
